Governance

Tessera is at an early stage and has one author, who makes the decisions. There is no foundation, steering group or roadmap vote.

What is written down instead of governed:

• SPEC.md is the specification. Where the spec and the code disagree, the disagreement is recorded rather than guessed.
• The Decisions log in SPEC.md records every choice the spec left open, with the reason, so a later decision can be made knowing why an earlier one was.
• Non-goals are stated openly in What is Tessera? so that people know what the project will not do.

When there are more contributors this page will say how decisions are made and how to become a maintainer. Until then, the honest answer is that one person decides, and the reasoning is in the log.
